Halloween is just around the corner, and it is one of my kids favorite holidays. With lots of sweets and getting to dress up, they are ecstatic! This year Ayla has yet to decide what she is going to be first it was Tinkerbell then Vidia (the mean fairy from Tinkerbell) now she says she wants to be Violet from the Incredibles movie. Isaiah is going to be Dash from that movie and boy is he excited. I think Ayla will create a unique outfit out of our dress up tub, since she is a little indecisive. So far we have picked pumpkins, carved them (although the squirrels ate through ours), counted pumpkin seeds, eaten some pumpkin seeds, made a spider countdown to Halloween and a paper jack-o-lantern. The kids also made a trick or treat wreath with stickers, paper, and tissue paper. We also painted small pumpkins and glued seeds on a paper pumpkin… we’ve been busy!
We are “booing ” our neighborhood as well. We have decorated treat bags and filled them with goodies and sneakily set them outside our neighbors doors. Their job is to enjoy the goodies and Boo someone else in the neighborhood by putting treats outside their door! The kids had lots of fun decorating the bags and we are hoping people enjoy the treats. We are also putting on a Halloween Festival at our church. Kids from that neighborhood can come and enjoy a hotdog, face painting, bobbing for apples, and shooting some baskets. We are “Very looking forward to that,” according to Ayla!
