So we took our kids putt putting the other night and had a memorable experience, so much fun! Part of the night consisted of Trevor trying to teach Isaiah the right way to stand and putt, while Isaiah wouldn’t wait for the ball to stop he was so excited to swing and hit it again. He had a red ball, his new favorite color, and the first swing he went to swing it like a golfer would on the first drive (I think that is the correct word, although I’m not an avid golfer)! Luckily he missed the ball and whacking Ayla’s head and just got air, hooray! We channeled his abundant energy into running back and forth across the green and watching us hit our balls. His favorite move was the sweep he would use when he just wanted to get the ball in. Most people would call it cheating, to us it was a creative finish. His final score was ninety-six.
Ayla was quite funny too. She had a purple ball, and switched back and forth putting with her right and left hand. She got a hole in one once when Trevor helped her get started, but she wasn’t excited because that meant she couldn’t hit the ball more on that hole. Our daughter is a great encourager so she would finish her hole and come back and encourage us as we went. “Oh wow Mommy that is great. Good job Daddy you got the ball in right away. Your almost there Isaiah you can do it!” I love it. We couldn’t really tally her score since she didn’t finish three holes, about six of the holes she used her hand to carry it to the hole, and the first hole she had so many swings we lost track.
Overall such a great memory, and a fun activity we will look forward to doing more in the future with our kids!
