What a beautiful day it was today. We woke up to about three inches of snow and more coming down. So beautiful. Since we didn’t want to drive we couldn’t go on our playdate today and instead we spent the morning being snowed in. We made snowflakes, painted a snow painting, played in the snow, played dinosaurs, colored a ton of pictures and enjoyed being together. We also did an indoor treasure hunt. I made a map of our house and our kids followed the map to find some treasures. They had so much fun we did this three times! It wasn’t much to find, but that is what I love about my kids, they are grateful for the experience as much as anything. They found a sheet of stickers on their pillows (I had pulled out of my scrapbook supplies), a piece of gum on the bookshelf in the playroom, and a thing of silly putty they had gotten awhile back but never played with. They chewed the gum right away, no surprise there, stuck stickers all over themselves and papers and mostly ignored the silly putty. It was a great adventure for them.
We had lots of fun as the day progressed, as it kept snowing. We had a snowball fight, buried Daddy in the snow, made snow angels. Isaiah would have stayed out all day, while Ayla lasted about twenty minutes. We came in from the snow to enjoy hot chocolate with seven marshmallows! What an exciting day.
