Since the weather here has been pretty nice lately, the kids and I went outside and did a bunch of sidewalk chalk. I love doing chalk with them, the things they come up with are pretty great. We of course drew lots of pictures, mostly of our family, cars, and rainbows. Then Isaiah used the stepping stones we have to write some of his numbers (in a crazy order) and hop around to them. Ayla enjoyed playing the game too. They would start at number one and then try to jump all the way to number two. Isaiah was very proud of the game he invented. Next we did some rhyming. We began with cat then wrote all our words that we could think of that rhyme with that. Then we rhymed happy and Dad. We numbered our steps and then traced our bodies. The kids usually like doing rainbow words. I write a word and they trace over it with a variety of colors to make it look like a rainbow. There are so many fun things to do with chalk. One of my favorites is the letter game when I write 5-10 letters down our sidewalk and the kids race to the letter I call out. Lots of fun as long as no one gets hurt! Happy creating!
