My son is very much into comic books, thanks to his Uncle Ry, and loves to check them out from the library and read the few he has at home over and over again. I thought it would be a good idea to capitalize on what he loves to develop his pictures. We made our own comic books. Basically Isaiah brought out his tub of superheros and used them as his models for drawing in his comic book. To make the book I just stapled a few plain white pages together, nothing fancy, and let him go to work. He was engaged for quite some time in the morning working on the pictures. It is still a work in progress but coming along. This would be a fun way to help your kids develop better pictures. Better pictures make for better writers, so have fun!
