God is our comforter.  When we go through hard times, we are not alone!  What an amazing blessing.  We talked with our kids about how God will be with us when hard times come.  Loving God doesn’t mean there are never hard times, but it does mean that He will be right there with us in those times.  I am truly thankful for that! Our verse was out of John chapter 16:33.

33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We talked about how when our kids get hurt we pick them up and hold them, hug them, give them kisses or rub their backs.  We give them a blanket when they are sick and how these things are comforting to them.  Our ornament looks like a blanket, since that is one thing they find comforting…snuggling (at least Ayla, and sometimes if it is a game Isaiah).
