Sin is something that all to often is glossed over in the Christian community. Sin is real and something we all do, unfortunately we are not perfect. I taught our church’s children’s church and got to do a lesson on it. Here is what we did.
Sin is something that doesn’t belong. I took our kids High 5 highlights magazine and turned to the page called “That’s Silly.” The kids had to find all the silly items that didn’t belong, just like sin doesn’t belong in our life.
We then made a chart with attributes of God and attributes of people on a chart based on Nehemiah 9 when they are repenting for their sins.
The last thing we did was each child wrote down a sin or drew a picture of it and then we tore it up, cheered that we were forgiven and threw it in the trash (they loved this part!).
What a blessing that we are forgiven!
